The Cowboys put a flag in the ground for DeMonte Capehart, 150 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit. A mixed bag that lands at C.
They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. A whole weekend of picks and tight end is somehow still a want.
They went 7 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
It grades out a shrug today, with plenty of room to move either way.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 24th pick they get a go-to option on the outside at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
A reach for Patrick Paul in the Round 2 slot; a little patience would have been rewarded. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Cam Hart in No. 87 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Braelon Allen at pick 109 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Tommy Eichenberg at pick No. 130 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
