Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Packers spent No. 243 on Evan Anderson, a name most had 52 spots down the list.
The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The Jones steal is the beam this whole class leans on.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 25 they get a long-term starter on the line. A clean fit for the roster.
T.J. Tampa at the Round 2 slot jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A conviction pick on Bralen Trice at pick 58 that the board grades a round light. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
No edge and no loss on Dominick Puni in slot 88; it is a wash and a sensible one. The roster fit checks out.
A wild overpay on Renardo Green in No. 91, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
A straight-up fair deal on Jamari Thrash at pick No. 127, value and slot in agreement. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
