The Eagles spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Isaiah Davis, the No. 184 name on the board, in the Round 7 slot.
The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. They were the ones paying the moving tax this weekend. The future picks help the war chest more than the win-now roster.
Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 22 they get a sticky cover corner at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Circle this one: Xavier Legette at pick No. 54 is a fall that decides a draft. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Marist Liufau at Round 3, Pick 34 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Christian Haynes in slot 103, plain and simple. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A tidy bit of business in the 137th overall pick, where Cole Bishop graded well above the range. A need, and now a little less of one.
Jaylen Wright at the 163rd pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the running back. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
They paid sticker price for Brennan Jackson in the Round 5 slot, and that is fine. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They robbed the room for Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Steal is underselling it; Jared Wiley at the Round 7 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It fills a real need, too.
Isaiah Davis in No. 243 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
