Call it larceny. Mike Sainristil sat on the board until Round 3, Pick 25, and the Packers did not need to be asked twice. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback. Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick-by-Pick
They did well to land Chop Robinson in the 25th overall pick, just ahead of his grade. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
No edge and no loss on Edgerrin Cooper in the 41st pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Ennis Rakestraw Jr. at pick No. 58 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A top-tier cornerback at a bargain, Mike Sainristil in slot 88, plain and simple. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Cooper Beebe at No. 91. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
No drama and no debate, Ben Sinnott went about where he belonged in pick 125. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
