The real work happened on the phones. The Packers fleeced their trade partners, turning their picks into a noticeably bigger pile than they started with.
The Slaughter value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. They are betting Davis proves the room right and everyone else wrong.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
They let Chris Johnson come to them and pounced at Round 2, Pick 14. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A slide stopped in No. 53, with Chris Bell worth more than the price. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Anthony Hill Jr. in the Round 2 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Mike Washington Jr. at slot 74 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Steal is underselling it; Jake Slaughter at pick No. 84 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. The roster fit checks out.
