If you want a masterclass in dealing, watch the Packers, who turned every swap into a profit this weekend. More right than wrong, and a B+ to match.
If one pick saves this weekend, it is Muhammad. They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it. Every board in the league had Roush lower, and that gap is the story.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick-by-Pick
Brandon Cisse at the 43rd overall pick is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Anthony Hill Jr. at No. 47 is the proof. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
By-the-book stuff, Germie Bernard at pick 57 squarely in line with his ranking. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Christen Miller in Round 3, Pick 1 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Derrick Moore at pick No. 69 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They paid up for Sam Roush at the Round 3 slot when waiting would have done the job. It fills a real need, too.
They will replay Jake Slaughter at the 84th overall pick for years; that is how good the value is. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
A slide stopped in pick No. 103, with Jonah Coleman worth more than the price. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Bryce Lance in Round 4, Pick 5 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
