Whoever sat across the table from the Packers should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B+.
They banked enough surplus on Golday to cover a lot of smaller sins. The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
The cost of the Farmer reach is exactly the players who went right after him.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
Nothing to complain about; Chris Johnson went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Anthony Hill Jr. slid further than he should have, and pick 47 is lovely value for the linebacker. A minor itch, scratched.
A tidy little value on Chris Bell in the Round 2 slot, a step better than break-even. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Jake Slaughter in the 61st overall pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. A need, and now a little less of one.
Christen Miller at Round 3, Pick 1 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
No edge and no loss on Mike Washington Jr. in No. 74; it is a wash and a sensible one. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A reach on Sam Roush in slot 77; the board had better options right there. The roster fit checks out.
Jalen Farmer in No. 89 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
The board had Daylen Everette higher than pick 92, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Jake Golday in Round 3, Pick 29 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
