Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Browns came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close.
On value alone, Styles makes the weekend a net positive. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher.
The veteran additions, Bernhard Raimann chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not. The hoard sets up next April more than it helps this September.
A strong weekend's work, and a rare one to find this little fault with.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 31 they get a sideline-to-sideline linebacker, outstanding value to boot.
Denzel Boston in the Round 2 slot is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They paid a round early for Caleb Tiernan in No. 47, more than the board wanted. A need, and now a little less of one.
They took Keylan Rutledge at par in the 70th pick, which is nothing to complain about. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
They let Malachi Fields come to them and pounced at pick 95. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
The board had Sam Roush higher than Round 4, Pick 7, and the tight end fell to them anyway. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Devin Moore slipping to No. 109 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
No edge and no loss on Dametrious Crownover in Round 5, Pick 6; it is a wash and a sensible one. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Drew Allar at pick No. 149 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Ephesians Prysock in the 206th pick. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
