This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Kris Jenkins, the No. 44 name on the board, stolen at the 107th pick.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. They will need Allen to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 6 they get a true top target. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Caleb Williams in No. 39 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They barely believed it either: Terrion Arnold still on the board at pick 47. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Good price on Javon Bullard in the 70th pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Kris Jenkins in slot 107 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A premium they did not need to pay, Braelon Allen a notch or two before his time. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
