They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Drake Maye is the Patriots' quarterback, full stop.
For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain. On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with edge rusher the one that mattered most. The offense got the lion's share of the attention.
The dealing was even money, start to finish.
Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 3 they get a passer to set the clock by. A clean fit for the roster.
Darius Robinson at pick No. 34 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Good price on Kiran Amegadjie in the 68th overall pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It fills a real need, too.
Nothing to complain about; Devontez Walker went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
By-the-book stuff, M.J. Devonshire at No. 182 squarely in line with his ranking. A minor need, but a need all the same.
