The weekend has a hole in the middle of it named wide receiver, a need the 49ers walked right past. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.
The Endries steal is the beam this whole class leans on. Every board in the league had Roberts lower, and that gap is the story. Offensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 27 they get a long-term starter on the line. The biggest hole, addressed.
Jake Slaughter in pick 58 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Tyreak Sapp in the 127th overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They jumped the gun on Jaeden Roberts, taking him earlier than his grade liked. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A tidy bit of business in the 138th pick, where Jack Endries graded well above the range. A need, and now a little less of one.
Will Lee III at No. 139 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
