You can draft well and still miss the point. The Cowboys did plenty of tidy work and somehow never got around to cornerback, which was the need that mattered most. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

Getting Washington Jr. where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 3 of 8 of the wish list covered.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.12 · Pick 12 · Keldric Faulk · DE-EDGE · rank 13
Keldric Faulk in pick No. 12 is fair value, right on his grade. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
R1.20 · Pick 20 · Olaivavega Ioane · OG · rank 22
In pick 20 they get a cornerstone up front. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
R3.28 · Pick 92 · Mike Washington Jr. · RB · rank 74
Steal is underselling it; Mike Washington Jr. at the 92nd pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R4.12 · Pick 112 · De'Zhaun Stribling · WR · rank 111
De'Zhaun Stribling at No. 112 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
