Everything else got attention, and tight end got none. That is a strange way for the Commanders to leave a draft. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.
That is a wide receiver worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.
Good work on the whole, with tight end the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 7 they get the heartbeat of the defense. More want than need.
Romello Height at Round 3, Pick 7 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The roster fit checks out.
They took Dametrious Crownover at par in the Round 5 slot, which is nothing to complain about. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A wide receiver of that caliber at pick No. 187 is the definition of value, full stop. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They paid sticker price for David Gusta in the 209th overall pick, and that is fine. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Jadon Canady at pick 223 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
