There is a lot to like until you notice edge rusher is still a hole. The Bears never got to the one that mattered most.
Getting Reese where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. They will need World to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.
Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work. Interior defensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 25 they get the heartbeat of the defense at a price that makes it sweeter. A real need, handled.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Caleb Banks at the 57th overall pick is the proof. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A.J. Haulcy slid further than he should have, and slot 60 is lovely value for the safety. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Isaiah World in Round 4, Pick 29, miles early. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Kaden Wetjen in the 239th pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Jack Kelly in pick 241 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
