The rest of the league will want that one back. Jacob Cowing tumbling to the Eagles in pick 210 is a gift they did not have to think twice about.
They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
So much rides on Jared Verse that the real verdict is a season or two away.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 22 they get a disruptor off the edge at a price that makes it sweeter. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Cooper DeJean at the Round 1 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
No edge and no loss on Xavier Worthy in No. 50; it is a wash and a sensible one. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Cedric Gray at the 120th pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the linebacker. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Nehemiah Pritchett at slot 161 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
The board had Tykee Smith higher than the 171st overall pick, and the safety fell to them anyway. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They barely believed it either: Jacob Cowing still on the board at pick No. 210. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
