The Packers torched the value chart for Sam Hartman, taking him 57 spots sooner than anyone had him slotted.
The Tracy Jr. pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want. They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 25 they get an island corner. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Jordan Morgan in pick 41 lands just on the right side of the ledger. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
No drama and no debate, Payton Wilson went about where he belonged in the 58th pick. A minor need, but a need all the same.
They did well to land Jaden Hicks in the 88th overall pick, just ahead of his grade. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Christian Mahogany at Round 3, Pick 28 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
They paid sticker price for Isaac Guerendo in pick No. 126, and that is fine. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Tyrone Tracy Jr. at the Round 5 slot is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It fills a real need, too.
Sam Hartman at Round 6, Pick 27 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A market-rate interior defensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Jaden Crumedy. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
They let Edefuan Ulofoshio come to them and pounced at slot 245. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Jalen Sundell is a better player than the 255th pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
