Every other box got a look, but edge rusher did not. The Packers will head to camp with the same hole they walked in with.
That Lane pick is the receipt they will wave around later. The dealing tilted against them, just enough to notice. Job largely done: cornerback settled and 4 of 8 of the wish list covered.
The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.
Bottom line, the swing picks will decide whether this ages well.
Pick-by-Pick
They paid sticker price for Christen Miller in pick 52, and that is fine. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Davison Igbinosun in the 84th overall pick. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Ja'Kobi Lane at slot 120 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A need, and now a little less of one.
A tidy little value on Charles Demmings in Round 5, Pick 13, a step better than break-even. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Beau Stephens. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
