When a board-topper like Jake Golday slides to slot 95, you do not overthink it, and the Patriots did not. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.

The cost of the Black reach is exactly the players who went right after him. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain.

On the needs board they went 7 of 8, with edge rusher the one that mattered most. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
