The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Packers watched Isaiah Davis slide 46 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. Some smart calls, some head-scratchers, and a C+ in the wash.

Every board in the league had Crum lower, and that gap is the story. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain.

If Cooper Beebe and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.

Pick-by-Pick

R2.9 · Pick 41 · Cooper Beebe · OG · rank 47
They took Cooper Beebe at par in the 41st overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
R2.10 · Pick 42 · Edgerrin Cooper · LB · rank 49
A market-rate linebacker, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Edgerrin Cooper. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
R2.26 · Pick 58 · T.J. Tampa · CB · rank 51
Nothing to complain about; T.J. Tampa went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
R2.27 · Pick 59 · Christian Haynes · OG · rank 65
Christian Haynes in the Round 2 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R3.25 · Pick 88 · Dominick Puni · OT · rank 88
No drama and no debate, Dominick Puni went about where he belonged in Round 3, Pick 25. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R3.26 · Pick 89 · Dadrion Taylor-Demerson · S · rank 86
Dadrion Taylor-Demerson at pick 89 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A minor need, but a need all the same.
R3.27 · Pick 90 · Gabriel Murphy · DL-EDGE · rank 92
By-the-book stuff, Gabriel Murphy at the 90th pick squarely in line with his ranking. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R3.28 · Pick 91 · Zak Zinter · OG · rank 105
They liked Zak Zinter enough to skip the value, taking him in slot 91. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R5.33 · Pick 169 · Kamal Hadden · CB · rank 169
They paid sticker price for Kamal Hadden in the 169th pick, and that is fine. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R6.27 · Pick 202 · Isaiah Davis · RB · rank 156
Isaiah Davis in pick No. 202 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R6.44 · Pick 219 · Myles Harden · CB · rank 208
A quiet steal in the Round 6 slot: Myles Harden for less than the market said. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R7.25 · Pick 245 · Donovan Jennings · OT · rank 238
They did well to land Donovan Jennings in No. 245, just ahead of his grade. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R7.35 · Pick 255 · Trey Taylor · S · rank 262
A straight-up fair deal on Trey Taylor at slot 255, value and slot in agreement. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
R7.36 · Pick 256 · Frank Crum · OT · rank 293
They left a pile of value on the table to take Frank Crum this early at Round 7, Pick 36. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
R7.39 · Pick 257 · Jalen Sundell · OT · rank 246
Jalen Sundell in the 257th overall pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It fills a real need, too.
