Somehow the biggest item on the list survived the weekend. The Eagles never addressed interior defensive lineman, and it is the kind of gap that lingers. No fireworks, but a solid B-.
If Randolph Jr. pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. On the needs board they went 7 of 9, with cornerback the one that mattered most.
They reloaded the coverage unit in bulk.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 15 they get a ballhawk on the outside. The biggest hole, addressed.
No drama and no debate, Xavier Worthy went about where he belonged in pick 50. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They did well to land Cedric Gray in No. 120, just ahead of his grade. It adds depth where they could use a little.
No edge and no loss on Dylan Laube in pick No. 151; it is a wash and a sensible one. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Walter Rouse at slot 161 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Malik Mustapha in the 171st overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
A straight-up fair deal on AJ Barner at the 172nd pick, value and slot in agreement. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They jumped the gun on Keith Randolph Jr., taking him earlier than his grade liked. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
