After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Commanders committed. Jayden Daniels is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline. The bottom line is a respectable B.
That Hunt pick is the receipt they will wave around later. They punted on tight end, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 2 they get a franchise quarterback at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
No drama and no debate, Jordan Morgan went about where he belonged in the Round 2 slot. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Troy Franklin in the 40th pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A tidy bit of business in pick No. 67, where Christian Haynes graded well above the range. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Jaden Hicks in Round 3, Pick 15. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Steal is underselling it; Andru Phillips at slot 100 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Jarrian Jones at the 139th overall pick. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Somehow Jalyx Hunt was still sitting there in No. 152, and they pounced on premier edge rusher value. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
