When a board-topper like Caleb Banks slides to No. 74, you do not overthink it, and the Chiefs did not.
The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 9 they get a three-down second-level presence at fair value.
Kenyon Sadiq is a better player than pick 29 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They paid sticker price for Zion Young in slot 40, and that is fine. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Caleb Banks at No. 74 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A need, and now a little less of one.
They robbed the room for Skyler Bell here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Isaiah World in Round 5, Pick 8 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Demond Claiborne at the 169th overall pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They let Louis Moore come to them and pounced at the Round 5 slot. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
They took Toriano Pride Jr. at par in No. 210, which is nothing to complain about. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
