The Packers' one glaring miss is tight end, a need they left exactly as they found it.
The cost of the Knight reach is exactly the players who went right after him. The Flournoy pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the tight end spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
They paid sticker price for Cooper DeJean in pick 25, and that is fine. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Fair-plus on Jordan Morgan, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A quiet steal in the 58th overall pick: Edgerrin Cooper for less than the market said. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Jaden Hicks in the 88th pick. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Gabriel Murphy at Round 3, Pick 28 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Isaac Guerendo in No. 126 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Jordan Travis at slot 169 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Caedan Wallace in pick No. 202 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A need, and now a little less of one.
Ryan Flournoy at the Round 6 slot is money in the bank, a wide receiver taken below his worth. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
A premium they did not need to pay, Tyrice Knight a notch or two before his time. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
A market-rate safety, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Tyler Owens. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
