Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Barryn Sorrell at slot 250 is 61 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.
On value alone, Gordon II makes the weekend a net positive. The wide receiver hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
Good work on the whole, with wide receiver the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 29 they get a rangy last line of defense, outstanding value to boot. More want than need.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Jordan Burch well ahead of where he belonged. It fills a real need, too.
Elijah Arroyo at the 79th pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Hollin Pierce at pick 148 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Ollie Gordon II at pick No. 207 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They talked themselves into Nick Martin at Round 7, Pick 20, and the board did not agree. It adds depth where they could use a little.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Barryn Sorrell. A need, and now a little less of one.
