They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: C.J. Hanson, 22 picks early at the Round 7 slot. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.
That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 21 they get a quarterback's worst nightmare. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Mike Sainristil at slot 55 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A minor itch, scratched.
A reach on Javion Cohen in the 158th overall pick; the board had better options right there. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A premium they did not need to pay, Delmar Glaze a notch or two before his time. A need, and now a little less of one.
Drake Nugent in Round 6, Pick 23 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
C.J. Hanson at pick No. 241 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
