The Eagles lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again.
That is a wide receiver worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
A perfectly average weekend, for better and for worse.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 22 they get a press-man option on the boundary. Exactly the need they had to hit.
In the 23rd pick they get a quarterback's worst nightmare at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Cooper DeJean at Round 2, Pick 18 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Edgerrin Cooper at pick No. 52 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the linebacker. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Theo Johnson at the Round 4 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Cornelius Johnson at the 210th overall pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
