Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Germie Bernard got past him. The Patriots do not have to explain a thing at the 125th pick.

Reaching for Burke left real value on the table behind him. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

They went 7 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for. The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
