Tennessee Titans

The Titans fleeced the room on the phones and earned a A-.

Nobody else had Kalil Alexander anywhere near the 225th overall pick. The Titans did, by 62 spots, and that gap is the whole story.

Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Stowers. Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback.

Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, Sonny Styles and all.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.26 · Pick 26 · Sonny Styles · LB · rank 21
In slot 26 they get a sideline-to-sideline linebacker at fair value. A real need, handled.
R1.31 · Pick 31 · Chris Brazzell II · WR · rank 29
In the 31st overall pick they get a true top target. A clean fit for the roster.
R2.3 · Pick 35 · CJ Allen · LB · rank 31
A clean, defensible pick in the 35th pick with a little surplus value in CJ Allen. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R3.2 · Pick 66 · D'Angelo Ponds · CB · rank 47
D'Angelo Ponds at No. 66 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It adds depth where they could use a little.
R3.11 · Pick 75 · Jake Slaughter · C · rank 55
Steal is underselling it; Jake Slaughter at pick No. 75 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R3.27 · Pick 91 · Mason Reiger · LB-EDGE · rank 148
Mason Reiger at the Round 3 slot is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
R4.1 · Pick 101 · Eli Stowers · TE · rank 53
They robbed the room for Eli Stowers here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
R5.2 · Pick 142 · Malik Benson · WR · rank 145
No edge and no loss on Malik Benson in the 142nd overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R5.4 · Pick 144 · Dametrious Crownover · OT · rank 144
Dametrious Crownover in No. 144 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R5.11 · Pick 151 · Beau Stephens · OG · rank 159
Beau Stephens at Round 5, Pick 11 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R5.31 · Pick 171 · Albert Regis · DL · rank 170
They paid sticker price for Albert Regis in slot 171, and that is fine. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R6.3 · Pick 184 · Kaelon Black · RB · rank 217
Value said wait; Kaelon Black in the Round 6 slot says they were not listening. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R6.13 · Pick 194 · VJ Payne · S · rank 196
VJ Payne at the 194th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
R7.9 · Pick 225 · Kalil Alexander · LB-EDGE · rank 287
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Kalil Alexander well ahead of where he belonged. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
