Somebody in slot 219 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Packers sat still while Dylan Laube, the No. 157 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.
They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. The Taylor III reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 20 they get an island corner. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Nothing to complain about; Jordan Morgan went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A need, and now a little less of one.
Good price on Junior Colson in slot 58, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A minor itch, scratched.
Jaden Hicks at the 88th pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Leonard Taylor III at Round 3, Pick 28 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Sataoa Laumea in pick 126 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Dylan Laube in No. 219 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They will replay Steele Chambers at the 245th overall pick for years; that is how good the value is. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Value with a capital V on Kalen DeLoach in slot 255, a genuine coup. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
