The rest of the league had time to spare on Jaishawn Barham; the Cowboys did not wait, grabbing him 54 spots ahead at pick 74. A D that will need time and luck to look better.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. Spending an early pick on edge rusher with quarterback and running back open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to.

For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. Golday falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.

It is a win-now wager, and the future is the stake.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even.
