They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: Nadame Tucker, 41 picks early at No. 133. No fireworks, but a solid B-.
A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want. The Trigg pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 27 they get a go-to option on the outside. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Nothing to complain about; Emmanuel McNeil-Warren went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
They read the board right and Michael Trigg was the payoff at pick No. 127. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Nadame Tucker this early at the Round 4 slot. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A quiet steal in Round 4, Pick 38: Jude Bowry for less than the market said. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A tidy little value on Charles Demmings in the 154th overall pick, a step better than break-even. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
They went early on Noah Whittington in pick No. 209, and the value did not follow. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They paid sticker price for Jeremiah Wright in Round 6, Pick 30, and that is fine. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
