The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Anthony Hill Jr., the Round 2 slot, roughly 20 picks past where he belonged. Call it a C+ and check back in two years.
The running back hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The Roberts pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.
The bill for those future picks comes due whether the class hits or not.
So much rides on Omar Cooper Jr. that the real verdict is a season or two away.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a go-to option on the outside. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
They took Gennings Dunker at par in No. 49, which is nothing to complain about. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They barely believed it either: Anthony Hill Jr. still on the board at Round 2, Pick 26. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A slide stopped in pick No. 97, with Zakee Wheatley worth more than the price. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
No drama and no debate, Treydan Stukes went about where he belonged in slot 98. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
A tidy little value on Jack Endries in the 127th overall pick, a step better than break-even. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
By-the-book stuff, J.C. Davis at pick 133 squarely in line with his ranking. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They paid a round early for Jaeden Roberts in the 138th pick, more than the board wanted. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A straight-up fair deal on Louis Moore at Round 5, Pick 23, value and slot in agreement. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
