The Devin Leary selection is the head-turner. The Giants reached 52 spots for him, and it will define how this weekend is remembered. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.
Landing Baker that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down.
They will regret leaving safety for another day if the season turns on it.
Good work on the whole, with safety the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 31 they get a building block for the line. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Ennis Rakestraw Jr. slid further than he should have, and the 47th overall pick is lovely value for the cornerback. A need, and now a little less of one.
T'Vondre Sweat in slot 63 is fair value, right on his grade. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Ben Sinnott at Round 3, Pick 6 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Steal is underselling it; Javon Baker at pick 107 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Isaac Guerendo at pick No. 141 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the running back. The roster fit checks out.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Decamerion Richardson at the 183rd overall pick is the proof. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Devin Leary in the Round 6 slot is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
