When the story of this class is written, it opens with Adam Randall at Round 6, Pick 34, a reach of 60 spots that the board flatly disagrees with. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
On value alone, Roush makes the weekend a net positive. They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick-by-Pick
Gabe Jacas in slot 48 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Nothing to complain about; Germie Bernard went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
The board fumbled Sam Roush all the way to the 108th pick, and they scooped it up. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A reach for J.C. Davis in No. 127; a little patience would have been rewarded. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Dametrious Crownover at pick 133 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They talked themselves into Beau Stephens at the 138th overall pick, and the board did not agree. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
