Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The 49ers spent pick 139 on Nadame Tucker, a name the board had a full 33 spots lower. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.
However the rest shakes out, Allen at that price is a win they earned. The wide receiver spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
Good work on the whole, with wide receiver the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 27th pick they get a mismatch in the passing game at a price that makes it sweeter. A clean fit for the roster.
CJ Allen at No. 58 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. The roster fit checks out.
They took Kaleb Proctor at par in pick 127, which is nothing to complain about. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
The board had cheaper options than Dametrious Crownover at the 133rd overall pick, and it noticed. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
