The rest of the league will want that one back. Dylan Fairchild tumbling to the Chiefs in Round 7, Pick 19 is a gift they did not have to think twice about. More right than wrong, and a B+ to match.
Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
Wyatt Milum in No. 32 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Circle this one: Nick Emmanwori at slot 35 is a fall that decides a draft. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
They will replay Tre Harris at pick 66 for years; that is how good the value is. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Taking Ashton Jeanty in the 96th pick is close to grand larceny; a running back that good had no business lasting this long. It fills a real need, too.
Steal is underselling it; Walter Nolen at the 118th overall pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. The roster fit checks out.
The board fumbled Harold Fannin Jr. all the way to Round 4, Pick 18, and they scooped it up. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Dylan Fairchild at the Round 7 slot is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
