The Bills clearly saw something nobody else did in Aidan Hubbard, taking him 141 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
The Bernard value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. For all the activity, safety went untouched, which is hard to explain.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the safety spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
A tidy little value on Anthony Hill Jr. in the 43rd pick, a step better than break-even. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Keionte Scott in the Round 3 slot. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Connor Lew in pick 87 lands just on the right side of the ledger. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Germie Bernard in pick No. 91 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They paid sticker price for Darrell Jackson Jr. in the 95th overall pick, and that is fine. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Nadame Tucker well ahead of where he belonged. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Value with a capital V on Charles Demmings in the Round 5 slot, a genuine coup. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Caleb Douglas at Round 5, Pick 28 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Logan Fano this early at pick No. 182. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Aidan Hubbard at pick 220 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
