The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Giants watched Mike Sainristil slide 32 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. It nets out to a B+, which feels about right.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman. The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss. Safety is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 12 they get a home-run threat at receiver at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Steal is underselling it; Terrion Arnold at the 43rd overall pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A clean, defensible pick in the 47th pick with a little surplus value in Tyler Nubin. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Fair-plus on Jeremiah Trotter Jr., a quiet win that adds up over a draft. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Jaylen Wright at Round 3, Pick 12 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
You do not let a cornerback like Mike Sainristil reach pick 107 and blink. They did not. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
The board fumbled Blake Fisher all the way to No. 141, and they scooped it up. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Ty'Ron Hopper in pick No. 183 is fair value, right on his grade. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
