The rest of the league will want that one back. Jeff Caldwell tumbling to the Commanders in Round 6, Pick 28 is a gift they did not have to think twice about. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.
For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. They went 6 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 7th overall pick they get a lead back with juice. A clean fit for the roster.
Jake Slaughter in pick 71 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Fair-plus on Charles Demmings, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Taylen Green in pick No. 187 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
The board fumbled Jeff Caldwell all the way to Round 6, Pick 28, and they scooped it up. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Thaddeus Dixon in slot 223 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
