The one they had to fix is still broken. The Chargers left edge rusher untouched, and that omission hangs over an otherwise reasonable haul.
Getting Taaffe where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. They left with interior defensive lineman solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 22 they get a pocket-collapsing interior rusher at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Chase Bisontis. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Michael Taaffe at Round 3, Pick 22. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Nicholas Singleton slid further than he should have, and pick 123 is lovely value for the running back. A need, and now a little less of one.
