Whoever sat across the table from the Eagles should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend. No fireworks, but a solid B+.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman. The Stribling pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged.
The Dennis-Sutton reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. Adding Maxx Crosby by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 14 they get a centerfielder for the defense at a price that makes it sweeter.
Eli Stowers in the 45th overall pick is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Dani Dennis-Sutton at pick 68 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A reach on Jalen Farmer in No. 98; the board had better options right there. It fills a real need, too.
A slide stopped in the 114th pick, with De'Zhaun Stribling worth more than the price. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Trey Zuhn III at pick No. 137 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Charles Demmings in Round 5, Pick 13 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Reggie Virgil is a better player than the Round 5 slot suggests; smart patience, rewarded. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
