You can hear the double-takes from here. The Jets took Drew Allar at Round 4, Pick 3, roughly 54 spots before his name belonged.

The safety spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Getting Allen where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. Quarterback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
