For all the names on the card, the loudest question went unanswered. The Patriots walked out of the weekend still thin at interior defensive lineman, a hole that has a way of deciding seasons.

They are betting Sapp proves the room right and everyone else wrong. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Casey.

They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
