Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Dolphins were there to profit. Kamal Hadden, the No. 169 name on the board, should have been long gone before pick No. 198. The bottom line is a respectable B-.
They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it. Robinson has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. On the needs board they went 2 of 8, with edge rusher the one that mattered most.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 21st overall pick they get an anchor for the offensive line at fair value.
A reach on Austin Booker in the 55th pick; the board had better options right there. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Layden Robinson in pick No. 158, miles early. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They took Tanor Bortolini at par in No. 184, which is nothing to complain about. It fills a real need, too.
Kamal Hadden at Round 6, Pick 23 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
LaDarius Henderson in the Round 7 slot is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A need, and now a little less of one.
