When a board-topper like Kamal Hadden slides to the 219th pick, you do not overthink it, and the Packers did not. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
Sinnott has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. The wide receiver spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
They squeezed a little extra out of every move they made. On the needs board they went 6 of 8, with edge rusher the one that mattered most.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 31 they get an anchor for the offensive line at fair value. A real need, handled.
Javon Bullard at slot 49 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the safety. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Chris Braswell at the 58th overall pick. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Christian Mahogany at No. 88 is a conviction pick that outran the value. The roster fit checks out.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Ben Sinnott well ahead of where he belonged. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They paid a round early for Will Shipley in pick 97, more than the board wanted. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A premium they did not need to pay, Roger Rosengarten a notch or two before his time. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Marist Liufau at the 126th pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
They read the board right and Kitan Oladapo was the payoff at the 169th overall pick. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Drake Nugent at pick 192 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A need, and now a little less of one.
Jordan Magee in the 202nd pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
Somehow Kamal Hadden was still sitting there in Round 6, Pick 44, and they pounced on premier cornerback value. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They reached into another round for Austin Reed, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
