The Dolphins put a flag in the ground for Keaton Bills, 42 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit. No fireworks, but a solid B.
The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. If one pick saves this weekend, it is Morgan. Job largely done: edge rusher settled and 2 of 8 of the wish list covered.
Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 21 they get a disruptor off the edge at a price that makes it sweeter. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
The board fumbled Jordan Morgan all the way to Round 2, Pick 23, and they scooped it up. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
They talked themselves into Layden Robinson at pick 158, and the board did not agree. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Drake Nugent well ahead of where he belonged. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Keaton Bills in the 198th pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A need, and now a little less of one.
Josh Proctor at pick No. 241 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
