Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Bills spent the 26th pick on Logan Jones, a name the board had a full 71 spots lower.
Getting Orange where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. They will regret leaving linebacker for another day if the season turns on it. They went 5 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
So much rides on Logan Jones that the real verdict is a season or two away.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 26 they get an anchor for the offensive line, a steep price for the projection. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Jadarian Price in slot 91 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Domonique Orange at the 126th pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A slide stopped in pick No. 165, with Mikail Kamara worth more than the price. A need, and now a little less of one.
They read the board right and Skyler Gill-Howard was the payoff at the Round 5 slot. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They barely believed it either: Isaiah World still on the board at No. 182. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Jalen Stroman at slot 220 is money in the bank, a safety taken below his worth. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
