The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Rueben Bain Jr., the Round 2 slot, roughly 43 picks past where he belonged.
Benson has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. That tight end hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The roster is better shaped than it was, with interior defensive lineman chief among the fixes.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the tight end spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 15th overall pick they get a true top target, a steep price for the projection.
Somehow Rueben Bain Jr. was still sitting there in pick 46, and they pounced on premier edge rusher value. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
A tidy little value on Treydan Stukes in slot 77, a step better than break-even. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
They reached a country mile for Malik Benson at pick No. 116, and the board is aghast. The roster fit checks out.
