The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Cowboys watched Zachariah Branch slide 47 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.
The Bisontis reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. That cornerback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
The skill positions did well by the weekend.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but cornerback.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 12 they get a security blanket over the middle. A clean fit for the roster.
In slot 20 they get protection for the quarterback, a steep price for the projection. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
They will replay Mike Washington Jr. at the Round 3 slot for years; that is how good the value is. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A wide receiver of that caliber at the 112th overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
