The Eric Rivers selection is the head-turner. The Falcons reached 49 spots for him, and it will define how this weekend is remembered. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.
They banked enough surplus on Brazzell II to cover a lot of smaller sins. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Offensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
Steal is underselling it; Chris Brazzell II at pick 48 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
By-the-book stuff, Kamari Ramsey at pick No. 79 squarely in line with his ranking. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
They reached a country mile for Eric Rivers at the 122nd overall pick, and the board is aghast. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
The board had Pat Coogan higher than slot 215, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A tidy little value on Logan Fano in the Round 7 slot, a step better than break-even. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
